I visited Amersham MOT for my car’s repair and service. Initially, I was a bit hesitant due to some negative reviews, but a friend who had a positive experience recommended them to me. I’m so glad I listened!

From the moment I arrived, the reception staff made me feel welcome. The lady at the desk was very polite, explained everything clearly, and even helped me book a convenient appointment that suited my work schedule.

The MOT process was smooth and transparent. They called me to discuss the necessary repairs and replacements, as my car is older and was recently purchased. The repair costs they quoted were reasonable, and they completed all the work within just three days.(as there were some parts to order from the company )

Both ladies at the reception were friendly and helpful throughout. The head of the team, Nick (if I remember correctly), was incredibly professional. He quickly identified the problem with my car and resolved it perfectly.

Overall, I found the entire process seamless, professional, and honest. I’m genuinely surprised by the negative reviews, as my experience was excellent. I highly recommend Amersham MOT for their professionalism, great customer service, and fair pricing.

Read the reviews before using this company. There's a reason they have so many 1 star reviews about their customer service - the owner is rude and aggressive and the receptionist just treats customers like they are a nuisance.

My car was serviced by them last October - all fine as far as I am aware - I paid the full amount and then found out the service light was still on. Ended up going back there several times and they still couldn't turn it off despite telling me they had the specialist equipment for it.

They explained it's an Audi issue and it will get updated at some point. I left it several months and rang to see if there was an update. The receptionist said she would call me back the next day and, when I didn't receive a call, I called again. This time the owner came on the phone and started shouting, saying I was hassling their staff. Had to hang up as he wasn't even letting me speak. They clearly have no interest in resolving the issue, so will have to go and pay somewhere to do it.

Their approach is so far from acceptable. I'm sure this review will get a response accusing me of being rude; it seems they always blame the customer, but it's no coincidence that so many customers are saying the same thing.

If I could give this review a minus one I would. Absolutely disgusting customer service to a lone female. Aggressive and so unfriendly, I would not recommend to anyone.
My mum had an awful experience with the owner and the receptionist(believe she is his wife)
Using intimating behaviour and threatening to keep her car there. Please avoid at all costs and read other reviews! They are all correct

Sadly, this garage, which has been used by (some) members of my family members, since it opened (some had a bad experience and never returned) will never be used by us again. After handing over my car and a very hefty sum of money following an MOT I had issues with the car. Instead of assuring me that they would look into it, I had nothing but rudeness and a request to move my car off their drive. This was not a problem when they held my car for a number of days to take significant money off me! I was told the noise I was hearing was something rolling around in my car. ( I may be a female but I know the difference between an issue with my car and something rolling around the back seat) I was then told it was my brake pads...again...no. I know when there is an issue with my brakes. All of this diagnosis was undertaken without 1 look at my car. Unsafe. Rude. A shame as I like to support local businesses but that was just awful. After years of me and my families custom we will no longer use or recommend this business.

I have used many, many mechanics over the years, but Nick’s knowledge and expertise stands out from the crowd. No matter how major or minor the job, his professionalism and integrity is always at the heart of his work. He has never - and I mean never - let me down, and I’ve lost count how many times he’s gone the extra mile to help me keep my cars on the road! My recent visit to his garage was no exception. As ever, he resolved my car issues in the promised timescale and took the time to explain the work required and the breakdown of charges. Brilliant outfit and service.

Avoid this garage.. read the reviews from other people that have been misinformed before you spend your hard earned cash with them...

I took my car for an MOT, was told it failed & they would give me a price for repair, I had to call back for a price, but decided to take my car elsewhere to get the works done, I was advised there would be no charge for a retest - this is not the case, the lady told me I would have to pay again because I never used their garage for the repairs, I was never informed of this beforehand.

I will not be using this garage again!!

Excellent service had a vacuum pipe come of they fitted me in and i got the car back an hour later. Thats twice they got me out of trouble at short notice. I would recommend.

I recommended this garage to my son in law as the owner Nick used to be an OK type guy Years ago when he worked from home

Although always bordered on aragont even then

My son in law had a leak to do with Ad blu with his van
He had taken it to another garage who said it could be potentially 2 things

So I recommended my son in law took it to this garage for a second opinion and if he thought the same then my son in law would get nick the owner of Amersham garage to do the work

How wrong I was
Nick the owner basically said that unless my son in law gave the go ahead to do the work ( which could potentially be £500 or £3k then he would not even look at the van or quote

So he wanted my son in law to agree a bottomless price which could amount to anything without any idea of the cost and agree that else nothing would be looked at

The owner said if he didn’t agree to that then he wouldn’t look at it

My son in law also said the owner was rude to the customer before him

Firstly I believe that this is illegal

Anyone is entitled to a quote for work to be carried out , and I’m sure in the current situation you have to provide a quote for work to be carried out and the customer then agrees before work starts
Then if more things are needed then confirmation by the customer to go ahead is needed .

Most decent garages look at the car
Diagnose the problem give you a quote the. You agree or disagree the work . That makes ethical sense

Secondly this man who owns this garage has sadly become the result of “ power has gone to his head “ and arrogance taken over him

He used to have a set up in his house on the A413 , but now he has this garage and MOT centre , but sadly his people skills and knowledge in how to run a proper garage correctly regarding customer service is zero ., it’s now it’s all about greed and no consideration for the person he is dealing with. He clearly thinks he is to busy and to rich to care

The strange thing is my son in law was going to have the work done there
He just wanted to know the price as he was not in a position to just spend thousands of pounds without knowing

He is a very rude and inconsiderate owner

. I did also agree with the many other reviews about the terrible customer service and the owners rudeness snd abruptness to customers . It’s really shameful by them . I also took my previous car for a diagnosis last summer which was an evoke and the owner told my partner my car had terminal cancer . I thought that was a very odd description to put on a car , and if you have had cancer which I have also very insulting . However I did think let my son in law have the benefit of the owners apparent experience .

I think stay away from this garage unless there is nowhere else in Bucks you can go

Go to a garage where they appreciate your buisness and look for a return in customers because they have good people skills as well as good mechanics

The owner is meant to be providing a service to the public in the car industry
But very sadly he most certainly is not

And if you catch him on a very bad day I’ve heard him being very rude and shouting at the receptionist who I believe is his wife .

However I’ve also been told that there customer service generally is so apauling and not every review is going to be wrong over half these say the same AVOID

And I have no doubt the owner Nicks reply’s to the bad ones are simply excuses in the majority as he is one of the most rudest people I’ve ever met

I called him to explain the above and that he is a mechanic running a garage and service and he told me to F—k off
