Quoted £844.34 (£40 if walk away now for the diagnosis) to repair a coolant pipe.
I approved £844.34 for the works.
At collection they tried to charge £875, as they found there was more to do. I had to argue to get this taken off.
On collection: Van would not start as they left something on so battery had died, they had broken the bonnet catch and THE COOLANT WAS BONE DRY!! (Despite being charged for 3 lots of anti-freeze).
If the battery hadn’t died - I would have driven away with a dangerous vehicle where the bonnet cover could fly up and I would’ve overheated because the one thing I went in for, to fix the cooling system, was empty!

In response to response. You’ve proved your work on the quote was inadequate as you did not identify the full requirements. If it’s normal for air locks to occur when working on a cooling system - a good mechanic would allow for this and check and not send a customer off with coolant below minimum. Informing your staff that I am not content with the state of my van and that the service is unacceptable is certainly not abusive. . . and make sure you’re accurate in your arguments online with customers - the car was there for 5 days - because my wife went into hospital for the birth of our child the day it was ready.

We have used Roger and his team for many years. Cannot fault the service, just taken elderly relatives up to get brakes sorted. At same time asked if he fir me new a new bulb. Did it straight away, always willing to help.

Popped in today for a MOT on one of the work cars at the spare of the moment.. From being on phone at 11am, to on the ramp at 2pm was amazing.The ladies in the office were exceptional and very professional and got us booked in and sorted in no time.
