One of the best B&Q branch I have visited. When I walked in straight away a young friendly lady asked me if I needed any help and directed me to the right section. Normally in most B&Q branches you have to walk for around the whole store to look for available staff. I will definitely go to this branch from now on

Kate in paint in the hemel store really went above and beyond to help me match the sample of paint I brought in to mix up a bathroom paint to get as closer match as possible.
She also took the time to take me to aisles to get the other products I needed and advised on the 3 for 2 deal.
Excellent customer service that is rare these days. Thankyou again Kate who was also supported by her manager Rob.

Bought this new petrol mower last week. My husband had his reservations due to it not being a Mountfield. Absolutely amazing product. My grass was about 2ft tall even after strimming it down, but the lawnmower just chewed through it with ease. Self-propelled as well, so didn't even need to push it. Made very light work of it. Just wish I had before and after photos to show you. Super amazed 👏

Generally well stocked and for a B&Q, very good. Plenty of parking spaces, with one of Hemel Hempstead's premiere eateries parked in the car park. Also, it's right on the canal, so handy if you're a canal boat owner on the Grand Union Canal in need of hardware.Also, there's a canal boat moored here which looks like it was decorated by Sir Mix-a-lot.

Was looking for some storage containers and shelves for the plethora of books I own. I found an amazing B&Q employee, Caroline, who promptly helped me and advised which ones to buy and which ones to avoid. Amazing customer service and experience. Will be visiting again.

You should find most things you need in here but some of the staff give the impression that you are bothering them when you ask for help.
I went back today to find bits for my multi tools. As for the previous time, the shelves for what I was looking for were quite empty, as out of stock. I stayed a long time trying to figure out which bits would fit my power tool. A couple of staff passed by me, probably looking puzzled and in need of some kind of help. None of them asked me if I needed help. Just after that, I went to Pets at Home were I found the staff very helpful, proactive and open. What a difference!
I don't blame the employees for that and I'm not saying that all staff at B&Q is bad and careless. This is a management issue and the lowest salaries given for that kind of jobs do not help in terms of motivation.
