I honestly forgot I was at an MOT centre. The service is five-star, and the staff are so friendly and welcoming. I was received warmly, and the hour flew by quickly while I enjoyed free Wi-Fi and coffee. I highly recommend Oxford Car Service Centre—their professionalism and the overall experience are absolutely amazing. Thanks!

A run of dubious experiences...
The good:
Service is polite, friendly and priced competitively but with hidden extra costs...

The bad:
I had a service last year which highlighted an aged suspension component requiring replacement. I got this work done the next week with the MOT by Cowley Road MOTs who charged a reasonable price but (despite specific instruction otherwise) did the MOT before the other work meaning I now have a fail on my cars MOT record - disappointing at best.
Some other components were marked as approaching end of life so I expected them to be picked up in the service the next year.

This year I had a further service which highlighted some of the same components, but some different ones also, particularly two "degraded" tyres with cracking in the treads (all 4 were fitted in a small period of time and have pressure checked every 3 months or so) which felt odd. One of last year's flagged components was now in need of replacement, scheduled for the next week and MOT the week after (I wasn't getting another fail on my MOT unnecessarily).
The maintenance was done but identified one of the "degraded" tyres now had a slash in the sidewall and required replacement for over £100. Seems a bit suspect...
The next week at the MOT the other "degraded" tyre had exactly the same problem which oddly I hadn't noticed when checking my tyre pressures the afternoon before the MOT. Another £100... Another bit of dubious inspection.
Given the garage had over £600 of work from me in 2 weeks I'm a bit disappointed to have another £200 of work in tyres identified without obvious necessity. Visit at your own risk...

Went above & beyond to facilitate much needed repairs for MOT. All during bank holiday week too. I had such a small time frame to work with & they simply just got the job done asap from opening time. The service was flawless & parts plus labour were miles cheaper than quoted a number of my local garages. I think I'll be making CRM my preferred garage from now on. Bus stops right outside so I just popped into Oxford for a coffee & lunch. Genuinely nice, honest & respectful team.

Very friendly and helpful staff, from receptionist to mechanic. Good advice on what I needed to fix to pass the MOT and a re-test included in the price, which they even fitted in for me at the end of the day when I turned up at closing time! They don't fix faults themselves, so there's no incentive for them to fail the car unnecessarily and there are plenty of mechanics nearby where you can get your car fixed if necessary, including next door. Great service, I'll definitely use them again next time.

I've been using Cowley Road MOTS since 2006, and I've never had a problem. The staff are friendly, professional, and courteous, and unlike some garages that do MOTs, as well as servicing, they don't have any financial incentives to fail you. Highly recommended.

It was easy to book my appointment, and the MOT was done on the same day. Was able to pick car up whenever was convenient for me. The owner was such a nice bloke! Had a few advisories and got a second opinion regarding a long-standing issue from the mechanics next door. A really pleasant experience.
