Avoid!!!

Took my partners phone down today for a screen replacement while she was at work. Picked it up and was told don't let the phone die as it's locked out. No problem. The phone said locked out for 7 hours.

2 hours later after returning it to my partner and her, leaving it on charge, it still said it was locked out for 7 hours.

She drove down and walked in the shop to ask if this was normal and if everything was OK with it to be told by the owner: "Not my fault, my job is done, my job is done". Wouldn't even look at my partner as she was trying to talk to him!

Basically dismissed every (very normal and understandable) questions she asked. He'd been paid (and he only takes cash, btw) and that's where the service stops.

I sincerely hope people take note and use anybody else that has half an inch of customer service to go along side their work.

Avoid, you have been warned!!

*Following on from a hilariously inaccurate response from the owner which I cannot seem to reply to*

Having viewed some of your many other 1* reviews on here, you seem to keep reverting back to use of your CCTV as a get out of jail free card? I would since, like to request a copy of said footage which I can screenshot your employee's apparent stellar customer service and upload on here. The date today is 13/01/2025 and I'll pop in tomorrow with a flash drive you can upload it to. (Before you use the excuse of it being wiped as it'll definitely stay on the hard drive for 24 hours). That will then show the chap in question's complete disregard to anything that's being asked of him.

To address your reply:

1) This phrase was definitely used, that's why I used these specific words in my review. Since you keep returning to this CCTV malarkey, I'd be interested to find out if it records audio too to put this to bed once and for all as, as it stands, you're effectively sat there calling a paying customer a liar? (Do you personally train your staff in customer service?)

2) Your unenthusiastic colleague did none of the above. Said colleague wouldn't even look at my partner, instead, just looking down whilst mumbling disparaging phrases until my partner felt uncomfortable enough to leave, however, again, your CCTV footage I collect tomorrow will show this.

3) As a small business owner myself, I completely understand that cash payments are accepted, however, not pushed on you being told that you only accept cash whilst there's a chip and pin machine on the counter? With cash payments however, surely I should have been presented with some form of invoice for the works carried out and whether or not there is any warranty on the actual function of the screen that was replaced (without mechanical/water damage ect).

It's also worth emphasizing that the fact my partners phone was locked with no access to google whether this is a common problem or not, her only avenue for 'knowledge' and 'advice' was to return to your shop. Not coming in with any sort of animosity or ulterior motive other than to ask if it was normal for the lock-out screen to still say 7 hours, 2 hours later to be completely shut down and shunned out of your shop.

My review paints a perfectly clear and accurate description of the service my partner and I have received.

Going back to what you've mentioned in your last paragraph about a previous visit, yes, we have used you for a repair in the past but customer service then was neither good, nor bad for that matter, however, if you would like me to leave a separate 3* review for mediocre service, I'm happy to oblige.

What time would be good to pop down for a copy of the CCTV footage tomorrow 14/01/2025, please?

My son fell over while carrying my tablet, and the screen smashed.
It took a week to get it fixed, which I felt like there was a delay, so the day before it was finally ready for collection, I went in to see how it was progressing. The gentleman mentioned that he wasn't satisfied with the quality of the screen, so he ordered another one.
However, I appreciated the friendly service.

My screen was badly damaged and not working correctly. I had been experiencing ghost touches and zero swipe response.
For iPhone 11; Charged me £70 for brand new screen and £10 for air blast and brush charging port. Threw in a quality screen protector for free. Done in an hour & 10 minutes.

Absolute horrible quality! I got a screen replaced, and the new one broke after less than 2 weeks! No compromises at all! No bill about the purchase or warrantee paper given that says they don't take responsibility even after a day!
UPDATE: I didn't harass your employee, I spoke in a good manner. He, on the other hand, never let me finish my sentence. We didn't break the phone, dropped it, which happens in life! But I find it awful that you don't have any warranty on your products! I thought I support the locals by going there, but it's my bad! Don't worry, I wouldn't go back there even if you were the only shop in the whole world! And I won't encourage anyone!!!
