These people are wonderful. Was in a bind with a broken thru axle on a cycle tour and they were able to pry out the original and get it replaced with a new one right on the spot. Showing up without notice, I expected they'd either not have time or not have the part. Instead, within minutes, they had 2 mechanics on the job! To top it off they gave me an espresso on my way out. Absolutely top notch. Thank you!!

These guys were life savers my seat fell off it’s rails and couldn’t be refitted and after struggling to get there for 2 hours I arrived shortly before 5 and they dropped what they were doing to get me back on the road being able to supply a used seat to get me though the last day of my bike trip. All very friendly and very well priced.

Needed some urgent repairs, but found them to be in the middle of moving premises. Despite this they found the time to drop their hammers and help me out, to get me back on the road very quickly, without complaint. Great guys, and greatly appreciated.

Had my e-bike taken in for repairs last week they had it less than a week and it came back with a full service and in perfect working condition couldn't have asked for a better service.

Bottom bracket bearing went dodgy while touring. Helmwind replaced quickly with very friendly service. Back on my tour in no time.

Called in with a loose bottom bracket whilst 200 miles into the pennine cycleway. With no notice John sorted it in less than 20 mins despite it being a mid drive motor with some unusual locking rings. Really appreciate the excellent customer service and workmanship. It's what I call a proper bikeshop, run by someone with all the kit and knowledge to match. Thank you.

We stopped off here when my ebike developed a fault with the chain being thrown off. Jon sorted the simple problem and within 15 mins and we were on our way again. No charge, so left him a bottle of Leffe. What great service.

We arrived at HelmWind cycles totally unannounced with a sticky brake problem. The front TRP Hy/Rd mechanical interface hydraulic disc brake wasn’t releasing the new pads I had put on – the bike would move but I wasn’t going to get up Great Dun fell with resistance. We had read the good reviews and hoped for the best. Our luck was in – Jon is not a man who will leave you with a problem. As it turned out it wasn’t reparable without putting in a lot of time and I was ready to go up the hill so he fitted a new mechanical unit – which I prefer – less to go wrong. He so willingly gave up his time to making sure we could get on the road. Thanks to Jon we got up the fell and down the other side on a wonderfully clear and sunny afternoon. I can’t thank him enough.
