Kwik Fit - Chandlers Ford - Eastleigh

I went to Kwik-Fit on the 12 March 2025 to get a front spring replaced on the passenger side of my car.

First, they ordered the wrong spring and so had to keep my car overnight as they had removed the old one.

Then they tried to use the old locknut and ruined the shock absorber so they had to send out for a new shock absorber. I said to them you never just replace one side of the shocks, you should replace both.

They charged me £400 when other garages only charge £220, (I have checked this).

I pick up a friend to take her to work and back. Twice I had to let her down as Kwik-Fit had my car up on the ramp for over twenty four hours. It cost her £35 for taxis.

Now my car pulls to the left especially on braking, due to the new shock absorber on one side and an old one that has done 131,000 miles on the other. They did not do a test drive to see if everything was alright.

I have also discovered that my wheel arch lining is all broken and now needs to be replaced. Not sure if this was broken prior to the work being done but it would have been nice to be told about it.

There own radio station bleats out saying "drive away happy" and goes on about being safe.

Kwik-Fit seem to be over priced compared to other garages and need to care about doing a good job.

Update - 18 March - Their area manager contacted me and agreed to refund some of the cost but better supervision is needed and maybe some more training of these young mechanics. Years ago, young people were placed along side more experienced older people. That's how we learned. Very different today sadly.

Absolutely amazing service! I thought I'd booked myself in online but I hadn't finished the process. When I turned up without an actual appointment booked the guy that saw to me could not do enough to help. Even though he had to rebook me in - I still left feeling more than happy with the service provided.

The team at Kwikfit Chandlers Ford are absolutely superb. Due to some issues with my car l, getting the tyres done has proven to be a nightmare. However, the manager here and every staff member I've dealt with have done everything they can to make my life easier. Special note goes to Stewart for going above and beyond, but they've all been great.

I went in to chandlers Ford after having a few bad experiences from a couple of local mechanics whereby things weren’t fixed/identified/diagnosed correctly, really poor communication, bad service so generally lacking in trust. The minute I went in and Tai greeted me and asked me how I was doing, I was so relieved. He listened carefully, he was so professional not to judge the previous mechanic but stay curious about what I was saying, and confidently told me what was going to happen. He then called me for updates, told me how much it was going to cost before proceeding, and gave really sound trustworthy advice. Honestly I could have cried. I walked away the happiest I’ve ever been spending nearly £1k! Because I knew he had my interests, and my cars interests at heart. I won’t be going anywhere else now. Seriously fantastic. I was wowed

Went in 9/2/25 to get my tyre checked. The younger guy working in there today was as nice as they come and sorted it within the hour. Honest, friendly, and genuine. Used to only ever go to Barmer Tyres near Asda as I repeatedly get issues with my tyres - but after today, it’s hard to justify why I’d go anywhere but here.

Exhaust was blowing but garage was unable to diagnose. Kwik-fit took the time and trouble to find the fault which was a split on the top of the box, so not easy to spot. Good advice given. Thank you!
