Final reply to their nonsense defense:
My Responses:
1. I collected the car from you around 1 pm, and it broke down again within less than 24 hours. Who told you it was 14 days? The second inspection report given by you proves this. Your business ethics are misleading and unacceptable.
2. Do you not keep a copy of the report you gave to me? You said the DPF sensor was faulty and advised me to go to a random garage. Now you claim itās a NOx sensor issue. Clearly, you donāt understand modern vehicle repairs.
3. I told you I had the error codes, yet you refused to check the car without your own inspection. Even after I expressed my concerns, you said I had no choice.
4. I dropped the car off at 8:30 AM as per your business card. Your claim that I arrived at 9:30 is falseāI have a 9:05 AM coffee receipt from a cafe on Whiteladies Road proving I was waiting while car was so called being repaired.
5. When I asked if the labor time could be shorter, you said no, itās a fixed price. Now youāre contradicting that. 2 and half hour for glow plug replacement, wow!!!
6. I paid nearly Ā£500 for an issue you couldnāt fix and was misled. Even 1 star is too generous.
To new customers: Avoid this garage for anything beyond simple brake pad or filter replacements.
Original comment starts here:
I was victimized and tricked by this garage. I wasted my time and money for nothing, my vehicle was not properly repaired, and they had no clue about the repair they claimed they could do. They also overcharged for labor.
My car showed a yellow engine light error, so I called Mercedes roadside assistance. When their team arrived, they used an error code reader and found faults related to the glow plug, regeneration, and DPF sensor. I then called this garage, and they told me to come back 15 days later.
When I arrived, I showed them the error codes, but they insisted that I had to pay a £60 diagnostic fee because they needed to check it with their own device. Even though the issue could have been resolved using the list I provided, I still agreed because I wanted my car to be repaired as soon as possible.
They told me to return in three hours, and when I came back, they claimed they only found the glow plug error and that there were no other issues. When I asked if they would fix the remaining problems if any error codes reappeared after the repair, they reassured me by saying, āOf course, of course.ā
It took them a whole week just to repair the glow plugs. For labor, they wanted to charge me for 2 hours and 15 minutes (~ Ā£200). When I questioned whether a glow plug replacement really took that long, they realized they couldnāt fool me and offered a 10% discount. Since I had already agreed, I paid the bill and picked up my car.
They didnāt even take the car for a test driveāthe Mercedes app showed the full history. Unfortunately, the next day, the engine warning light came on again. I had to take another day off work and went back to the garage, expecting them to fix it. Instead of repairing anything, they brushed me off and told me to return the next day.
The next day, after waiting another 3 to 5 hours, they did a 10-minute diagnostic scan and found the DPF sensor error. However, they admitted that they didnāt know how to fix or replace it and suggested I go to another business they had found on Google.
The same diagnostic tool that they had previously usedāafter charging me for glow plug replacement and a diagnostic feeāwas now able to detect the exact same error code I had told them about from the beginning. On the first day, they didnāt even give me a report, but on the day when all the error codes appeared, they printed out a 4-5 page report. Clearly, they want to take my money for what they can repair and then they dumped their customer because they knew they could not fix other issues. How come Same diagnostic device reads different codes everyday.
In the end, I sadly learned from experience that aside from basic mechanical or electrical repairs that you could do at home yourself, their service is far from trustworthy.
