Can’t fault Meadow Garage, fair and honest pricing for MOT & work required to get it through same day. Kerry on reception was extremely helpful & efficient getting quotes for parts and keeping me updated. Came in for an oil sump pan change for my fiat 500 and can’t be more pleased about the service received. Martin (the mechanic that did the change) communicated and explained everything I needed to know very well and was very polite. Both my partner and I have used this garage for years.
For a really long time we have been content that they deliver good standard services and charge fair prices.
Most mechanics have moved on however we have continued to use the garage services.
Last week one of my gear cables broke. RAC confirmed this and I got the car to the garage. There have been delays in getting it fixed due to the cables not being ordered in a timely manner which was fine, sometimes it happens. When these finally arrived I have been told that it took 7 hours and 3 mechanics and the dashboard removed to change the gear cables and was charged £550 not including VAT. I have rang different mechanics in the area to ask if this sounds right and the consensus was that it should take a max of 2h for a trained mechanic to change gear cables and the dash should not be touched on a Vauxhall Antara as the gear stick sits between the chairs and is not coming out of the dashboard. All 4 garages I rang were baffled by this story and advised that 7 hours and removed dashboard is inexplicable.
Yesterday I was told that it was the central console which had to be removed and there is no way any garage can change gear cables in two hours as advised by mechanics from other garages.
When asking how much the cables cost,I was told that £290. I rang the Vauxhall dealership where the cables were ordered from and they have advised that these cost £214.12 including VAT.
Because of the mess around I was told that the labour charged was for 4h (£240 based on their rate of pay). That would total £454.12. not including VAT.
I was charged £550 not including VAT.
When I have asked why no explanation was offered and the phone got put down.
Sadly I will not be using this garage again as a quick profit seems to take precedence over customer loyalty and good name that they used to have.

I highly recommend this garage. I've taken my car there a few times since moving to the area and they have always given me great service. A really friendly helpful bunch. Family run business who will do their best to help you. Alan the cat is an added bonus when he is there.

Fantastic garage by far the best in the area. Staff are friendly and very professional. The woman in reception is very helpfully and always egar to help and has outstanding customer service skills. Price for repairs and service are very good compared to others iv used in the past and all done in a timely manner . Always use for my MOT and wouldn't use anyone else in the area. They have a customer for like and I would recommend to anybody.

We had an urgent water pump repair required on our VW Sharan - Hailey and Kerry and their team at Meadows Garage, were extremely helpful and professional in helping us get our car back on the road as soon as possible due to having family visiting from Overseas and this being our only family vehicle, the car has come back and is running as good as new again in time for our trip up North. Thank you all concerned at Meadows ! One very happy family !
