I had a dreadful experience here. I took my bridesmaid dress to have the hem taken up slightly and they damaged the top of my dress. When I picked my dress up, they bundled it into a bag (they’d discarded and not replaced the protective cover I had on my dress) and made it difficult for me to even spot the issue. When I complained, they hastily assured me they could fix it (but I had to come back in 4 hours for them to do so - another wasted journey!) and when I asked about compensation for the waste of time and stress caused, they were very rude and said “no” because “sometimes these things happen”. £35 to simply have the hem of a dress taken up was already overpriced, but then to have the top of the dress damaged and my time wasted with no compensation offered or given is bad customer service. They did not even apologise. I will not be returning here.

I had a great experience. I needed a tweed jacket sleeves turned up and it was done very professionally, with the buttons moved at no extra cost. Faultless needlework at a very reasonable cost. I will definitely be back for other alterations, as I have been elsewhere and been disappointed.

I took a beautiful perfect brand new bridesmaid dress to be altered for my daughter, the hem needed shortening. They absolutely ruined the dress, they left bad shiny marks around the bottom of the dress, two little pin holes where they attached a ticket to the back of the dress and the worst thing of all they had obviously ironed the frill sleeves with an iron that was too hot. There was no need to iron the sleeves I have know idea why they did, however they are very badly marked and the colour has faded from the iron being to hot and the frill has been stretched out and flattened and the iron has left dimple marks.
I am so upset the dress has been ruined. I took the dress back to show them but they were extremely unpleasant, unhelpful, unprofessional, and denied they were to blame. The owner was a horrible nasty man and he could not have cared less.
I’m so upset about the whole thing and I strongly recommend you do not use this business.

Needed to get several pairs of trousers taken in around the waist and seat and also several in the width of the leg, not a straightforward job. They did a really great job each time, not especially cheap but really gave some great suits a second life and so was very good value in my opinion.

The ladies who do the actual alterations were great and do a good job but had a very bad service from the owner of the place. He was extremely rude and abusive. I asked why it would cost £48 to alter a garment and he’s response was well that’s how much we charge, do it or take it elsewhere. I told him that was rude, he then went on and on and said I must think he is my servant, I was so appalled by this. I will never go back there
