PHANTOM WORK
I knew my pads where running low also some wobblyness as would drive so because of work I dropped my car off at 6.30AM and job was to----
1.change front brake pads
2. Inspect/diagnosis for wobbling (unsmoothness) and tires etc then to call with a quote/price.
Call comes after 3 days as they was busy, said I need pads, 1 tire(front) and ball joint replacing on driver side,. Price including a part worn tyre £45 was
£335.
Car continue wobble so I take to michanic I used before but was away when I needed this work doing, now he asked me what work was supposed to have been done to which he showed me that no nuts had been undone for years on the side they say they changed ball joint, (other side was only done a few months before by this michanic which was a new wish bone full replacement so the side they was supposed to replace ball joints had never been touched, I had new calipers and new discs fitted as one was sticking that was the cause of wobble that phoenix could not diagnose.
Basically I paid £335 for new pads which was only £40 then 1 hour labour being generous, they didn't even use copper grease on back of pads leaving them dry so would start screeching after a few months and absolutely no work was done on the ball joints or anywhere in that area, michanic was very shocked.
This was my experience, I paid cash and was offered no receipt but checked as I paid what work was done as it would be about 5-6 weeks before I discovered the dishonest and shoddy workmanship and knew I wouldn't get anywhere complaining so chosen to warn others.
Just check any work is ACTUALLY DONE before making a payment.

I have been using this garage for over 20 years now and I have got to know these guys personally now. I can honestly say that I would highly recommend these guys to anyone who needs work doing on their cars or vans. They are honest on what they tell you and also very open and honest with their prices. Needed a new drive shaft fitting to my wife’s Land Rover the work was done the same day.
