Very disapointed, historically I had very good experience with this garage, couldnt say a bad word and recommended them to friends and family but after todays experience my opinion has changed. I called in to ask for pre mot car check and lady on the phone firstw quoted me £49 for the service saying if I do MOT and issues arise I can re-do the MOT with them for free within certain amount of time, Ive explained I want to make sure my car has no advisories and I want it repaired if needed before hand, she confirmed the price is £49. Upon arrival today I wanted to confirm that its a pre mot check to which the reception lady said yes and its £69 as they charge £49 for MOT not pre MOT check. I was suprised as I made it clear over the phone before booking what I am after. I agreed to go ahead with it and I went for a walk with my toddler. When I was coming back in the mechanic was walking up in front of me and sadly didnt hold the door for me no offered help, I wanted in with the buggy and asked about the car, I was told no advisories and its total of £72 - hour labour plus VAT. Ive asked for a report to which l was told there are no advisories so there is no report and the lady kept insisting I should have done MOT with them to save money and again Ive explained I wanted to check the car and make sure its in best order, seemed like she didnt accept that as satisfying answer and kept repeating that I should have done it and she is trying to save me money. Ive asked her to stop as we keep going in circles and maybe Im not expressing my needs clearly to her. She could have offered to change this service to MOT check as the car would pass but she didnt. Ive asked if the car is scanned during the test as I had engine light on the other day, she vanished somewhere and after coming back she said no advisories all is good, Ive asked again for some sort of report which she ended up printing out and sharing it with me. I paid the £72 which was way more than I was told originally and I turned to exit. I was again not offered help to get out, I had hands full with baby and buggy and sadly the lady didnt offer to even open the door for me. I came out of this very frustrated, not the best start of the day. I took time of work, had to plan it around nursery and my todler, I was overcharged and I didnt feel this was the standard this place is known for.

Edit: The daughet of the owner contacted me, was very appologetic and offered a full refund which Ive kindy asked to be exchanged to an MOT test. The owners are very thoughtfull and have standards they want to stick to which is very good to see. They care for the client in the end of the day.

Incredibly friendly, accommodating, and very knowledgeable!

Helped to identify and fix my issue, whilst saving me the cost of an unnecessary repair that I thought may be needed. All the staff here were great, couldn't fault any of them, and an extra shout out to Steve for his expert knowledge and advice, can't thank you enough 😊
