Excellent service. Needed a roof replacing along with batons for a buy to let property.

Tom came back with a quote very quickly and very competitive to others companies we had been quoted from. Had a full detailed quote with scope of works. Talking to Tom felt really comfortable with his approach. Once agreed he managed to fit us in quickly.

The most impressive part is Tom's communication with when the scaffolding and skip was being installed/delivered. This made it easy for me to liaise with my tenant. The job was completed ahead of time and finished product we are very happy with.

Definitely recommend to use and all future projects Tom is our guy. Thank you mate!

Big thank you to Tom and his team for dealing with damp coming into the bedroom following the storm. Tom was was prompt on turn up to look at the problem. He explained all the work required and followed this with a detailed quotation. We agreed a date to suit and his team arrived and rebuilt the chimney stack, new flashing, rain gullies fitted and new roof tiles. Also he re felted the small section of flat roof while he was here. His team were very polite and friendly, they showed us photos all the way through the job. When they had finished did a great job of cleaning up. Tom kept us informed all the time - great job

Avoid.

I paid £890 for :
1. One leaking conservatory roof sheet to be sealed.
2. Brickwork to be repointed at front of property above the canopy.

3 people turned up to do the work and were gone in less than an hour.

The conservatory roof was still leaking. After speaking to Tom he said that nothing could be done without further investigation which would incur additional cost. After getting hold of a set of ladders and going up myself, it turned out that his man had not even sealed the correct sheet that was leaking. I fixed the issue myself in less than 5 minutes.

Then, I discovered that all of the repointing at the front of the property had crumbled and large chunks have came out (discovered after less than 5 months, so it probably failed almost immediately after they installed it). So this will need to be re-done by someone competent. Pictures are attached.

I am £890 down and back to square one. I should not have been surprised at the terrible job in hindsight considering how quickly they had left.

I strongly recommend that you do not use this person. He charges a fortune for small jobs and then does not even do them.

Update: some developments!
1. A few minutes after posting this review Tom turned up at my front door and, without permission, took pictures of my house. I'm not sure if this was an attempt at intimidation, but it's rather aggressive eh? (To reiterate my earlier statement but publicly, please do not visit my property again Tom, or any of your employees).
2. He emailed to say that he did explain about the roof panel and how its age meant no guarantees could be made. He ignored the fact that I pointed out here that his man sealed the wrong panel. So he did not even read this review properly! (Again, I am not a professional roofer but fixed this in a few minutes!)
3. He justified the high cost as fair by saying that it wasn't all profit because VAT had to be paid as he was a registered business. (Not sure this logic tracks).
4. His unauthorised picture of my house showed the side where the mortar has cracked (and can be wiggled with your finger) but not come out. He used this to say the mortar was intact. So he ignored the pictures I posted on this review! I've included another image with another section of the broken mortar now removed on the off chance he tries to argue it's largely fine.
5. Contradicting the above, he then stated that the small section that needed repairing he would do in order to come to a "fair resolution" for us both.
6. I initially suggested the only resolution I would accept (as I do not want any more subpar work done) was a refund of my £890, following which I would amend this review or take it down (which seems a fair response once a bad transaction is made right). He replied that he doesn't think he should have to refund any money as he has done nothing wrong, but as a goodwill gesture would refund £350 if I took this review down. If he doesn't think I deserve the refund then paying me £350 to take the review down is a bit suspicious.
7. Following the above pushbacks he then said that he would not debate me via email.

He said that if I didn't agree to his proposals (either more work or a £350 payoff) then he would reply to this review, which I await with interest.

While I am annoyed that I am £890 out of pocket, it is amusing watching someone try to justify unprofessional behaviour.

Last week I Had T Smith roofing and renovations Ltd back to remove a vent and he did some work on the main roof superb workmanship and his staff are hard-working and friendly. I would recommend Tom and his team of roofing experts to everyone. They always do a superb job at a fair price.

Wow - what can I say. Just fantastic. From the prompt email and phone call to establish what my requirements were; to a visit to look at the issue and then actually coming to do the job. Courteous and professional service. Polite workforce. Didn't try to rip me off and gave an opinion that further work was not necessary. As a single female I'm naturally weary of having work done. This company and particular Tom were a pleasure to do business with. Highly recommended.
