Failed my classic car for an MOT due to not being able to determine the curb weight to conduct the brake tests, despite having called me on the day when I gave him the weight. It also failed on emissions. I asked him on collection if he could adjust the carb but he said no and that I would have to get a tuning firm out. I decided not to return here for the free retest and gave it to another local MOT station who adjusted the carb + stated they could not understand why this garage could not simply look up the kerb weight. This was now over a year ago but just managed to get around to this review. The car was a Lancia should the owner of this garage wish to think back. £50 totally wasted and not sure this garage should be approved to do an MOT based on my experience. Also stated my car needed a respray which was not appreciated as I did all the bodywork. I should have known better that to have used a garage in Evenwood.

Took my car to Holdsforth in bishop auckland and it failed on multiple things.
Was debating selling it and getting another car as the costs they quoted where more than the cars value. (Just a old banger)
Brookside garage explained that getting mine fixed would be a better idea and he could have a good check and fix it up back to its former glory.

It turned out most of the fails from the other garage where just exaggerated! And even one they missed that I was aware of before so he certainly took his time checking everything properly.

He fixed it up at a quarter of the cost of the other garage and even did a fill valet, and all in a day's work.

Would deffiantely be back.
Highly recommended if you want HONEST service and fair work!

Genuine honest guy, had work done before and only does the work that needs doing unlike other larger garages that come up with all sorts wrong. His prices are good also.
