Purchased two bathrooms units from Wickes that arrived destroyed. Online states to return it to the nearest store, in-store manager doesn't want the responsibility so I have to take it back home and wait for a call that I don't receive. After emailing and calling I get a replacement but it's only one of the damaged units, now I have to do the whole process again. It's almost been a month since my initial order, I would not advice buying from Wickes especially online and I would stay away from the Alton branch as they are as useful as a bag of potatoes. Buy from another retailer. The worst item I have literally ever received.
I will not shop with Wickes again !!

Paid substantial amount of money for a kitchen with Wickes and the service and experience is shocking. Wrong items delivered, damaged items delivered, and even items in the wrong packaging. 3 week kitchen project has taken over 9-10 weeks because of constant delays, damage, and mistakes on Wickes part. I’d be hard pressed to buy nails from Wickes in the future. I’ve 1/2 filled a skip with waste (incorrect/damaged items) they have told me I’m responsible of disposing.

Excellent customer service!
Rang up about some garden gates and young guy made big effort checking available. Collected 7am following day and a man opened couple minutes early (rather than leave me waiting outside) and then a lovely lady went off and collected them on a trolly for me. Fantastic customer service… thank you.

Staff are incompetent (must say that there is a man there who is very good at his job), manager blamed that they are "new to the business" but I think a lack of training and leadership might be the real issue.
The bathroom and kitchen team are almost uncontactable, I gave up phoning and have to drive to the store just to get anything done.
I was sent to another store to return items from a bathroom being fitted, reason was because the designer didn't read the parts list and pretty much double ordered the parts, as "nobody at this store can return that", only to arrive to be told that it could only be done at alton as that's where I ordered it from.
I have spent far too long calling and then chasing calls back now it is beyond just a busy day or somebody forgetting but rather total incompetence.
Refunding surplus items was hell, told to bring them back, and they will do the refund without needing to come back. I got an automated email saying, "Come in to the store for the refund."
Bathroom returns, again lied to. Was told I would get an email confirming the refund and money back in a few days, turned out that they would "unlock" the order (whatever that means) and then i would get my money back. It was also great witnessing the designer messing around with a tape measure. It's a shame nobody used it for its intended purpose when mesauing up!

Save yourself the hassle and avoid them unless you 100% know what you want and can get by not talking to anybody

This is a good store but some of the staff really need some customer interaction training. Just basic manners and politeness - that’s all. The chap driving the forklift in there this afternoon was something else - shouting at people to get out of his way and point-scoring when a customer said something to him; he was being deliberately inflammatory when all that was needed was to let the customer speak. Appalling way to deal with any customer in any type of store.

We got an excellent service from Nick when we were looking for a new kitchen. He was very helpful, always returned my calls and was very patient with me changing my mind all the time. We are please with the price we paid , the quality of the kitchen and the professionalism of the fitter Doug! Outstanding!

Appalling customer services, staff member lied to the manager at my local store to say they had a product in. I spent over 1 hour round trip driving to be gaslighted by not one but three employees telling me that the product was suitable and in the end the lad told me that in the time it took to check the shelves and get back he had forgotten as he had short term memory problems.

My local store are amazing but Alton seem to employ staff who don't listen, lie to other stores and treat customers with contempt.
