New layout works better. Seems spacious and lighter. Unfortunately did not supply door plaques as we wanted but we did get a nice chrome door knocker.

Not the biggest Wickes but has all the essentials. Recently it's been uplifted and the layout changed which slightly improves the customer experience. The staff are very helpful.

I bought an expensive outdoor furniture product from Wickes. At £120 it cost more than many others I had looked at.

Thats fine I thought. It’s going to be outside for the next 5 or so years. It needs to be robust.

On assembly a plastic clip broke. It’s literally two pieces that clip together. No problem I thought.

This must be faulty should be easy to resolve so I rang the store.

The guy who answered the phone asked if it was broken before I assembled. I said no, I pushed the two parts together and it broke. Whether there was a flaw in the clip I don’t know. I would think there must have been as surely it shouldn’t break the first time it goes together?

‘My manager says there’s nothing we can do’ as you broke it was the reply. Ok can I speak to the manager I asked.

In the background I heard ‘I knew that was coming.’ Nice start.

I asked if I could bring back the broken part, and show what has happened so I could change it, at which point he told me he couldn’t do anything as he didn’t want to get into trouble with his manager.

I asked what was the point in him being the manager today if he couldn’t make a decisions. At this point he put the phone down on me.

Nice one Wickes. A great example of caring for your customers.

Picked up an online order which had been swiftly got ready for me. Had initially booked click and collect but at the checkout it asked if I wanted delivery. Due to the large doors and boards I decided that would be best but I recieved an email saying it was ready to collect. I rung up the store but it proved impossible to change so I went and collected it. At the store my trolley was quickly retrieved but just handed over, no offer to assist loading it. Due to the heavy weight you would have expected some sort of help. I managed it myself though.

Nice friendly staff, if you ask for stock and it's out the back they actually go and get it for you rather than just say they have nothing. Just had a refit so looking organised but now I can't find stuff.

Could do with better signage so items can be found easier, we weren’t the only ones wandering around trying to find the lighting section.

Miserable staff member on the till, no manners at all, she clearly didn’t want to be there.

They sell a wide range of diy items from kitchens to bathrooms. Decorating equipment, plug sockets, etc . Went in to order wood to be delivered.
Staff really helpful and friendly. B and Q wanted to charge £30 for the wood to be delivered wickes charged us 7.50. The wood was cheaper to buy here too . Much better value all round
